Well Equipped Library

The library is the heart of any academic institution and it is an integral part of academic endeavor in the college and is being constantly enriched by acquisition of latest Law Books, Magazines and Journals. The sitting capacity of the library is adequate and the working hours of the library are 9.30 am to 4.00 pm in the institute. A student can borrow three books at a time for 14 days. However books meant for reference will not be issued. The library is continuously in the process to acquire text books meant for reference books, to keep its reader abreast with the latest information. The library of the institution aims to facilitate academic & research activities. The college library is organized into various sections, which are managed by professionally qualified staff. The library is equipped with a photocopy machine facility, enabling students and staff to copy essential study material. Additionally, for the past six years, the library has maintained an active subscription to Manupatra, a leading online legal database. This provides students and faculty with easy access to judgments, statutes, notifications, legal articles, and more—supporting both coursework and legal research.

Moot Court Hall

There is a modern moot court hall in the college that is said to be the laboratory to test the advocacy skills of the students. The college strives to integrate the knowledge and practice of law through a regular and compulsory moot court practice where students learn to prepare and present their case. In this series, the college organizes inter moot court competitions in routine to make the students enhanced with legal skills. The students of B.A LL.B. Hons. 5 Year (Integrated program) 10th semester and LL.B. Hons. 3 Year program 6th semester have been facilitated for an internship and training under Senior Council in District Court, Rohtak.

Computer Lab

Our College of Law has a furnished Computer Lab that has a large number of 30 PCs with latest configuration. It provides facility of internet with high speed of 6 mbps optical fiber broadband connection with networking. There has been an optimum use of Computer Lab established in the Institute to facilitate the students in online examinations recently.

Legal Aid Clinic

Article 14 of the Constitution of India talks about equality before law and Article 39-A provides for equal justice and free legal aid. As per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and Bar Council of India, New Delhi, the institute has set up a legal aid clinic to provide legal help to weaker section of the society, who are not able to approach the court. In co-ordination of the District Legal Service Authority, Rohtak (DLSA), the teachers and students of the institute organize the legal awareness camps and visit to rural areas to provide needy people legal free aid and help. This will help the students to get practical exposure and develop their legal skills by interacting with general public.

Placement Cell

A Placement Cell has been established in the Institute. The Placement of the students will be the top priority in the Shamsher Bahadur Saxena College of Law (SBSC), Rohtak. Thus institution has an independent department to take care of the training of the students and their placement through campus placement drives. Students are given coaching by experts to improve their skills required for placements like resume writing, communication skills, written tests and group discussions, technical and personal interviews. For this purpose the college has recently entered into MOU with BRITISH ACADEMY FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE (BAFEL).

Anti Ragging Cell

The College for curbing ragging as conveyed by the UGC vide letter No. FA-1/97(CPP-II) dated 7th July, 2001 in view of the judgment of Supreme Court in civil writ petition no. 656 of 1998 ‘Vishwa Jagriti Mission Vs. Centre Govt.’ given below shall be adhered to strictly.

Ragging in educational institutions is banned and any one indulging in ragging is likely to be punished appropriately, which may include expulsion from the college , suspension from the college or banned for a limited period or fine with a public apology. The punishment may also take shape of (i) withholding scholarships or other benefits (ii) debarring from participation in events (iii) withholding results (iv) lodging of FIR with the local police. If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not / cannot be identified, collective punishment can also be awarded to act as a deterrent.

Any disorderly  conduct whether by words spoken or written  or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other students, indulging in rowdy or in disciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to invoke fear or such tension thereof in fresher’s or junior students or  asking the students to do any act or perform something  which such students will not do in  the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing  or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student will be deemed an act of ragging.  Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLP (c) No. 24295/2004 in the matter of  ‘University of Kerala  Vs.  Council of Principals, colleges of Kerala & others has ordered that if any incidents of ragging  comes to notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the Instituition.

It is mandatory to submit a self-declaration against ragging along with the admission form which is attached with the admission form.

Sexual Harassment Committee

The College has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015. This initiative follows the guidelines laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the landmark judgment of Vishaka & Others vs. State of Rajasthan & Others (AIR 1997 SC 3011), which first defined sexual harassment at the workplace and mandated the formation of redressal committees in institutions.

Sexual harassment in educational institutions is strictly prohibited. Any student or employee found indulging in such misconduct is liable to face strict disciplinary action which may include:

  • Warning or written apology
  • Withholding of academic or employment benefits
  • Suspension or termination from employment (for staff)
  •  Suspension or expulsion from the institution (for students)
  •  Lodging of an FIR with the local police under applicable criminal laws Sexual harassment includes any unwelcome behaviour of a sexual nature, whether directly or indirectly, such as:
  • Physical contact and advances
  • A demand or request for sexual favours
  • Sexually coloured remarks
  • Showing pornography
  • Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is empowered to receive complaints, conduct inquiries, and recommend necessary action. The inquiry shall be conducted in a fair, confidential, and time-bound manner, ensuring natural justice to both the complainant and the respondent.

As per UGC norms, if any such incident comes to the notice of the authorities, the matter shall be forwarded to the ICC, and the concerned person shall be given an opportunity to explain. If the explanation is found unsatisfactory or the misconduct is established, disciplinary action will be initiated in accordance with institutional policies and legal provisions.

All students and staff are required to submit a declaration acknowledging awareness of and commitment to the prevention of sexual harassment, to be attached with the admission/employment form

Multipurpose Hall

The Multi-Purpose Hall of the college is a well-designed and spacious facility that serves as a central venue for a wide range of academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities. With a seating capacity to accommodate a large number of students and faculty members, the hall is equipped with modern audio-visual aids including a projector, sound system, and microphones to support effective presentations, lectures, and interactive sessions.

The hall is regularly used for hosting seminars, workshops, guest lectures, orientation programs, debates, moot court competitions, and various other academic and extra-curricular events. Girls’ & Boys Common Room

Personal space for students, especially young adults, is of crucial importance in every educational institution. Recognizing this need, the college provides well-equipped and comfortable common rooms for both girls and boys.

The Girls’ Common Room, located on the ground floor, offers a safe, private, and welcoming space for female students to relax, interact, and engage in informal discussions with their peers. It is spacious and thoughtfully furnished with a mat, cupboard, rack, small round tables, and indoor games facilities. This room serves as a secure and comforting environment where girls can rest if needed and find a brief respite during their academic day.

In addition, the Boys’ Common Room is located on the first floor of the college building. It is similarly designed to provide male students with a comfortable area to unwind, engage in discussions, and build camaraderie outside the classroom setting. The room is equipped with basic furniture

Smart Class Room

To keep pace with modern educational advancements, the college has established a well-equipped Smart Classroom that integrates technology into the teaching-learning process. Canteen and Cafeteria ensures refreshments for busy minds. The cafeteria food is of the highest quality and has a range of food products that can be obtained. The prices are highly subsidized by the college authorities to ensure the right price at the best of the quality. The cafeteria has adequate seating capacity.

College has 24 hours fresh running water supply through aqua fresh. A storage tank is also provided for the unforeseen circumstances. Clean drinking water is available all across the campus. Water coolers are installed at convenient locations.
